Metal Fabricator

Day Shift: Monday to Thursday 6:30am to 5:00pm

Weekend Shift: Friday to Sunday 6:00am to 6:30pm

Job Summary: Are you a wizard with metal? Do you love creating and assembling amazing pieces from scratch? As a Journeyman Fabricator at AMH, you’ll turn blueprints into reality, crafting components that are both functional and beautiful. This isn’t just a job—it’s a chance to showcase your artistry in metal fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Blueprint Boss: Interpret and bring to life blueprints, sketches, and drawings with precision.
  • Machine Mastery: Set up and operate a variety of fabrication machines like saws, presses, shears, and welding equipment.
  • Metal Magician: Measure, cut, shape, and join metal components with expert skill.
  • Quality Champion: Ensure every piece meets our high standards for accuracy and safety.
  • Maintenance Maven: Keep our equipment running smoothly with regular maintenance.
  • Team Player: Work closely with your teammates to complete projects on time and with flair.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Pro: Journeyman certification or equivalent experience in metal fabrication.
  • Blueprint Brilliance: Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Welding Whiz: Strong skills in welding, cutting, and assembling metal components.
  • Machine Maestro: Experience with various fabrication tools and machinery.
  • Detail-Oriented Dynamo: Excellent attention to detail and precision in your work.
  • Independent and Team-Oriented: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Great Communicator: Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

About the Role
As a Mechanical Designer at Advanced Material Handling, you will play a vital role in our engineering and design team. Your primary focus will be to develop innovative designs for custom material handling systems, ensuring optimal functionality and manufacturability. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in mechanical design, work with cross-functional teams, and contribute to delivering high-quality solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Development: Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software, ensuring designs meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the fabrication, sales, and engineering teams to translate customer requirements into feasible designs.
  • Blueprint Analysis: Analyze project blueprints and customer requirements to ensure the accuracy and functionality of designs.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve design challenges to optimize efficiency and manufacturability.
  • Quality Control: Conduct design reviews to verify accuracy, compliance with standards, and readiness for production.
  • Documentation: Maintain and update technical documentation, including BOMs (Bill of Materials) and revision records.
  • Innovation: Recommend and implement design improvements to enhance product performance and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in mechanical design, preferably in material handling or a similar industry.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
